Our Materials

Material Sharing Initiative

At The Inspired Mind, we believe creativity doesn't need to begin with expensive supplies, it begins with possibility.

Some of our most inspiring materials once served a completely different purpose. A cardboard tube becomes the foundation of an invention. Buttons become mosaics. Loose parts become engineering challenges. When children learn to see potential in everyday objects, they develop creativity, resourcefulness, and the confidence to think beyond the obvious.

Our Material Sharing Initiative invites families and community members to help give quality materials a second life by sharing items they no longer need; items that can become the starting point for imagination, exploration, and discovery.

This initiative also reflects our commitment to sustainability. By thoughtfully reusing materials whenever possible, we're teaching children that creativity and innovation often begin by seeing new possibilities in what already exists.

What We’re Looking For

We're always excited to consider clean, safe, reusable materials that encourage open-ended play, creativity, building, designing, and problem-solving.

Before You Share

To help us maintain a safe, organized, and inspiring environment, we ask that all shared materials meet the following guidelines:

  • Please share only clean, gently used, and reusable items.

  • Materials should be in good condition and ready for children to use.

  • We cannot accept broken, dirty, moldy, or heavily worn items.

  • For health and safety reasons, we cannot accept hazardous materials, recalled products, or items that cannot be thoroughly cleaned.

  • Because our storage space is limited and our material needs change throughout the year, we may not be able to accept every item offered.

  • We reserve the right to politely decline materials that aren't a good fit for our programs.
